It stands at a higher elevation fascinating mountain scenery and surrounding landscapes. According to Hindu mythology, it is one of the ancient Temple of Lord Vishnu. Muktinath’s word is originally from “Mukti” and “Nath” where “Mukti” refers to “Salvation or Nirvana” and “Nath” stands for “God or Master”. The main temple of Muktinath is a pagoda-style dedicated to Lord Bishnu. It is a religious place that holds the faith of two different religions in the same shrine. It is a common place of worship for both Buddhist and Hindu communities. It is also known as one of the most Shakti Pitha among51 Shakti Pitha goddess shrines.

There are 108 waterspouts in the backside of this temple called Muktidhara and on the front side of the temple there are 2 ponds knowns as Paapkund and Punyakunda. Taking bath in these Muktindhara and two Kunda (ponds) believes to guarantee salvation after death and being sacred from sin. During Travel, many Shaligrams (Ammonite) can be seen and worshiped. According to Hindu Mythology, it’s an incarnation of Lord Bishnu where lord Bhisnuwere turned into Shaligram because of Brinda’s Curse.

Kagbeni village is every bit of a Tibetan village, stuck somewhere in between centuries, where Hindu pilgrims offer Pinda and perform Shraddha (death ritual)to their deceased ancestors at this confluence believing that it brings salvation to the departed soul.

Especially in Rishitrapani, Ram Navami&BijayDashami thousands of pilgrims gather here to celebrate the festival. Besides of the main temple, Muktinath has many other attractions such as the ancient Narsinghgumpa, Samba Gumpa, BhisnuPaduka Temple, MukteshworMahaDev Temple, Jwalamai Temple, Sangye Buddha Statue, GuruRimpoche Statue.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Kathmandu to Tatopani

We departed around 6 am from Kathmandu and reach Tatopani around 5 pm. It takes around 10 to 11 hours from Kathmandu. It is around 303 km far away from Kathmandu. Have lunch on the way. After reaching, we check-in the hotel. Then getting some rest. We take Non-Veg-Dinner and Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 Tatopani to Kagbeni

Early in the Morning, we move for Tatopani Kunda (Hot Spring Spot). Dipping into the Fresh hot spring water pool at Tatopani brings a pleasing experience to our mind & body. After having breakfast, we will continue our journey to Kagbeni. It takes around 4-5 hours to reach Kagbeni from Tatopani, we will stop at our drive-in Rupse to see the beauty of the waterfall. After exploring Rupse waterfall we drive to Ghasa/Lete for lunch. Then we move to kaagbeni for sightseeing around there. After reaching, we check-in the hotel. Then getting some rest. We take Non-Veg-Dinner and Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 Kagbeni to Muktinath to Marpha

Early in the Morning after having breakfast we will check out from the hotel and head towards Kagbeni, 30min sightseeing. It takes around 1 Hour to reach Muktinath from Kagbeni. We will have visit to Muktinath temple, 108 Mukti Dhara , 2 holy Mukti Kunda and Jwala Mai Temple Darsan. Lunch will be provided on the way (Muktinath). After that, we move to Dhumpa Lake. It takes around half an hour hike from Jomsom if you are traveling by Bus. But if you are traveling through Scorpio you can easily reach there. After exploring Dhumpa Lake we drive to Marpha Village. It is mostly famous for jerry Galli, kabaddi Galli, apple garden, and Marpha (a wine which is made from apple/cherry). Explore Marpha village get refreshed, have dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 Marpha to Pokhara

Early in the morning wake up and have breakfast. After checking out from the hotel we will continue our journey to Pokhara. We will have lunch on way to Lete/Ghasa. After lunch, we move to Baglung Kalika Temple & Galeshor Mahadev. At Kusma, we will visit the longest suspension bridge in Asia. Then check in at the hotel and get some rest. Have non-veg dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5 Pokhara to Kathmandu

Early morning having breakfast and hotel check-out. We move to Pokhara for half day sightseeing at Bindabasini temple, Devi’s fall, Gupteshor Mahadev temple, and Lake Side. We will have veg lunch on the way and back to Kathmandu.
