Janakpur Dham is the birthplace of Janaki (Goddess Sita), the consort of Rama. Janakpur Dham is one of the most important pilgrimage sites of Hindu devotees. Janakpur named after king Janak is the headquarters of the Dhanusha district. It is at a distance of around 220 kilometres from Kathmandu. The temple was built by Maharani Brishabhanu Kunwari Devi the queen of Tikamgarh (India) in 1811A.d as a mark of devotion to Janaki. Ram Navami is one of the biggest festivals in this region attends by hundreds and thousands of devotees from Nepal and India. The historic town’s ancient temples, monasteries, and art and craft of numerous creators are also regarded as important centres. Janakpur is one of the popular places for learning the Hindu culture and Hindu Philosophy. Janakpur is the most significant site to visit Ram Janaki temple is the masterpiece by queen Virsha Bhanu of India. Furthermore, this temple is the most beautiful site for any architecture lover as this temple is popular as the most important model of Koiri architecture in Nepal. The temple has an area of 4860 square feet with 60 rooms and three-storied structures. All the room of the temple is designed with coloured glass impression and paintings with beautiful frame windows and tower.
Detail Itinerary
Day 1 KATHMANDU-JANAKPUR DHAM
Pick up at around 7 to 8:00 am to all clients, and we will drive to Janakpur. It Takes a 6-7 hours drive and will engage with the sights of Dhulikhel, Sinduli Gadhi, etc. You will have lunch on the way. After Lunch, we will move to Sindhuli Gadhi. After spending a certain time in Sindhuli Gadhi the ride will make you wonder about Nepal as you see changing landscapes from hills to plains. In the Evening we arrive at Janakpur and check in to the hotel with welcome tea and snacks . After some time of rest, we have dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 JANAKPUR SIGHTSEEING
We wake up early in the morning; you start the morning by going to the Janaki temple. This temple reflects the amount of dedication to the Hindu goddess Sita. After visiting Janaki temple we take breakfast at the hotel. Then you will move to Bibahamandap where lord SITA and RAM got married. You have lunch in Janakpur at the hotel. After having lunch &rest, we will visit various places like Ram mandir, Ganga Sagar, Dhanusa Dham, Janakpur Railway station & Local markets. In the evening return to the hotel after some rest, we have dinner and overnight stay at the hotel
Day 3 DRIVE BACK TO KATHMANDU
In the morning have a warm breakfast & get ready for the ride back to Kathmandu. While returning you will engage yourself with the views of terrace farming, trees, and fresh air. You have lunch on the way to the drive. After lunch, you will drive to Kathmandu, and we reach Kathmandu in the evening.
