Trip Overview
Illam name is Limbu language which “IL” means “Twisted” and “Lam” means “road”. Illam tea is famous all over foreign countries and exported to many parts of Europe. Illam is a major attraction nine-cornered Mai Pokhari Lake. Gajurmukhi is a religious spot for pilgrimages from Nepal and India. Mai Pokhari River & four tributaries also emerge in Illam district. Illam is a gateway for Maane Bhanjyang (mane pass) that connects Illam with the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India.
Kanyam Ilam is one of the popular tourist places to visit beautiful green tea gardens and picnic spots. Kanyam is renowned for its tea garden among Nepalese. It lies in the Suryodaya Municipality of Illam district of Nepal. Kanyam is nearby India so Every year thousands of Indian tourists arrive here in the summertime to beat the heat. Mainly attraction is Heavenly tea gardens, pine trees, mesmerizing natural beauty, horse riding, and tea processing plants can be seen here if you have spare time and are interested in them. Taking pictures of a different cultural dress is also available here who wants to keep the memory of that time. During the tour, you can purchase Churpi and Aakabare Khursani which are very famous in Illam. This is one of the beautiful places in Nepal you should not miss visiting with your family and friends once.
Detail Itinerary
Day 1 Kathmandu to Dharan
We depart around 6-7 am from Kathmandu and reach Dharan around 5 pm. It takes around 9 hours and 30 mins from Kathmandu. It is around 405 km far away from Kathmandu. Have lunch on the way. After reaching, we check-in the hotel with welcome drinks. Then get some rest we enjoy visiting Dharan Bazar in the evening. We take Non-Veg-Dinner and Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 Dharan to Illam
The next day, early in the morning we move to Budhasubba temple & Dantakali temple for Darshan. After returning from temple darshan, we take breakfast. Back to the hotel and have lunch then we will drive to Illam. It takes around 5-6 hours to reach Illam from Dharan. After reaching our destiny Illam, we check in the hotel and get some rest. Then we go visit Fikkal Bazar in the evening. Have Non-Veg-Dinner and Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 Illam to Kanyam
Early in the morning, after waking up we move to Seti Devi Temple, Singh Bahini Temple, Chiyabari, Maisthan(Nishan Bhagwati), and the old Factory we take breakfast. We also visit the Kanyam Tea garden and spend around there. On the way to veg lunch. Overnight stay Kanyam.
Day 4 Kanyam to Kathmandu
Early morning wake up and it’s a day to return to our sweet home. Have some healthy breakfast and we will head towards Kathmandu. On the way to Veg Lunch.
