Ghalegaun is a beautiful village in north-central Nepal at foot of the lamjungHimal which is at an altitude of 2016 meters from sea level. It is a beautiful hill village which is being developed as an ideal rural tourist destination & for homestay. Most of the member of Ghalegaunserving British army is known as the Gurkha soldiers.it lies in the northwest of the capital “Kathmandu” approximately 5 hours 12 minutes.

The people here are of mainly two religions, Hinduism and Buddhism hence the festival is guided by them. The main festival in Ghalegaun is TamuLhosar, as a major population belongs to the Gurung community. One of the major tourist attractions is the Ghatu dance which is performed with great zeal. Dudh Kunda or Dudhpokhari is famous for taking a ritual bath and worshiping the local deities during the Janai Purnima in the month of August.

Ghalegaun is also to activities of collecting Honey from the nest of wild bees. Many other plants make the place looks colorful and splendid. Birds like partridges, night gales, owls and doves, etc. make it exciting for bird lovers. A colorful village with picturesque hills and mountain scenery will bring you to feel western Nepal. Annapurna Ghalegaun trekking is a recently an open trekking route in the Annapurna region. Ghalegaun trekking offers a superb breath-taking view of the majestic western Himalayan.
